And, of course, I remembered, that he was hating the Eiffel Tower.  He was considering it as "high and skinny pyramid of iron ladders, this giant ungainly skeleton upon a base that looks built to carry a colossal monument of Cyclops, but which just peters out into a ridiculous thin shape like a factory chimney". But in the same time Guy de Maupassant every day was eating  at the tower’s restaurant. On the question "why" he answered, that it's a single place, from which he doesn't see this... monument of Cyclops.
